KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – 16 March 2023
– Clean energy solutions provider Gentari Sdn Bhd (Gentari) via its
wholly-owned subsidiary, Gentari Green Mobility Sdn Bhd has signed
a tripartite roaming agreement with EV Connection Sdn Bhd and
Yinson GreenTech (YGT) through its subsidiary, Green EV Charge Sdn
Bhd, to enable cross-tracking and cross-access charging of
electric vehicles (EV) on the Gentari (via Setel), JomCharge and
chargEV mobile apps.
Announced at Automechanika Kuala
Lumpur 2023, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on 16 March
2023, this collaboration gives EV users the ability to locate a
combined total of over 550 charging points across the country.
This represents more than two thirds of all available charging
points in Malaysia, with Gentari operating over 150 charging
points, chargEV operating close to 300, and JomCharge owning 100
charging points.
“To accelerate EV adoption in
Malaysia, it is essential to prioritise customer experience.
Therefore, by June, users will have the added benefit of
cross-access charging, giving them access to approximately 70% of
all charging points in Malaysia,” Shah Yang Razalli,
Gentari’s Chief Green Mobility Officer said.
“Our
fingers are always on the pulse of consumers’ needs, and we
are taking the initiative by coming together to make your life
simpler. Via this tri-network partnership, we give greater range
confidence to users when driving in Malaysia, as they can locate
the entire charging network of the three service providers via
Setel, JomCharge or chargEV,” Managing Director of EV
Connection, Ir Lee Yuen How added.
Srinivas Tati, the
Senior Vice President of Business Development for YGT, commented,
“YGT is always committed to working with like-minded
partners who share our vision of providing a better user
experience and accelerating the adoption of EVs. This
collaboration is a first step in the infrastructure collaboration
with key industry players, that will lead to more opportunities
and possibilities in the future.”
