Gentari has appointed Bernard Esselinckx as Chief Renewables Officer, effective 1 August 2026, strengthening its leadership team as the company continues scaling its Renewable Energy business across Asia Pacific.
Building on its 9.1 GW* of cumulative renewable energy and energy storage capacity, installed and under construction globally, Gentari is well positioned for its next phase of growth in the region. As Chief Renewables Officer, Bernard will be responsible for advancing the strategic growth of Gentari's Renewable Energy business across key markets. He will also lead efforts to expand Gentari's project pipeline, pursue large-scale renewable energy opportunities and create long-term value from the company's growing portfolio.

Bernard brings more than 25 years of international experience in the energy and infrastructure sectors, having led energy businesses across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America, with experience spanning conventional generation, renewable energy and emerging clean energy technologies. Prior to joining Gentari, he held several senior leadership roles within the ENGIE Group, including Chief Executive Officer, Chief Technical & Operating Officer and Board Director. Over the course of his tenure, he led the development, financing and operation of more than 8 GW of power generation assets.
His expertise spans the full investment lifecycle, from project origination and development through financing, construction, operations and asset divestment. He brings deep commercial, operational and investment experience, with a strong track record of building and scaling complex energy platforms and developing high-performing teams.
Bernard holds a degree in Civil Engineering from UCLouvain in Belgium, an MSc in Environmental Engineering from Trinity College Dublin in Ireland and an MBA from IMD in Switzerland.
